Come on in, family. Let’s go back to the roots. Literally.
Dandelion root. Burdock root. Marshmallow root. Nettle. Red clover. If you know herbs, you know these are some of the oldest names in the book. They’re the plants grandmothers turned to every spring when it was time to reset the household routine.*
Root & Restore Herbal Tea Blend puts five of them into one premium loose-leaf tea. Here’s what’s in your cup, how to brew it, and what to know first.

What does “loose-leaf premium blend” mean here?
In tea talk, “loose-leaf” means the herbs come as loose dried plant pieces, not ground up inside little paper bags. You scoop it, steep it, and strain it. Bigger pieces usually mean more flavor and aroma in your cup. And “premium blend” is how we name the blends Herbalist Kareem designed for the shelf, as opposed to the custom blends you build yourself at the tea bar.
What’s Inside: Base, Support, and Flavor
When I build a blend, I think in three parts. The base is the foundation, the herb the whole formula leans on. The support herbs are the team that backs it up. And the flavor is what makes you actually want to take it every day, because if it don’t taste right, you won’t stick with it. Here’s how Root & Restore Herbal Tea Blend breaks down.
Base: Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale)
Roasted or raw, dandelion root has a deep, earthy, almost coffee-like taste. Traditional use: A classic in digestive and liver-focused herbal wellness blends across European and Native American traditions.* It’s the base.
Base: Burdock root (Arctium lappa)
The long root of the plant with the sticky burrs, eaten in Japan as gobo. Traditional use: A traditional root in cleansing and whole-body wellness formulas.*
Support: Marshmallow root (Althaea officinalis)
Slippery when steeped. Traditional use: Traditionally used as a soothing botanical.* It smooths out the earthiness.
Support: Nettle leaf (Urtica dioica)
Traditional use: A nutrient-rich green herb traditionally used in wellness teas.* Nettle is a little nugget for your cup: green, grassy, and nourishing.
Support: Red clover (Trifolium pratense)
Pink-purple blossoms from the field. Traditional use: Traditionally included in herbal cleansing and wellness blends.*
Why caffeine free matters
Every herb in this blend is naturally caffeine free, according to the product page. That means you can enjoy it in the morning, after lunch, or in the evening without the jitters. A lot of our customers in Peoria keep one caffeine-free blend for the evening wind-down, and this can be that cup.
What Does It Taste Like?
Earthy, rooty, and grounding. Dandelion and burdock bring a toasty, slightly bitter depth. Marshmallow root softens it and gives the cup a smooth body. Nettle and red clover add a light, green, floral note. A spoon of honey and a squeeze of lemon make it sing.
How to Brew It, Step by Step
Okay, family, pen and paper out. It’s not rocket science.
- Heat your water. The product page says 8 to 10 oz of hot water.
- Measure 1 to 2 teaspoons of Root & Restore Herbal Tea Blend into a tea infuser, a strainer, or straight into your teapot. One teaspoon for a lighter cup, two for a fuller one.
- Steep 5 to 10 minutes. Cover your cup while it steeps so the good aromas stay in the cup and not in your kitchen. Longer steep, stronger cup.
- Strain and enjoy. Enjoy it warm, or let it cool and pour it over ice.
- Sweeten if you like. A little raw honey or agave works great. Taste it first, though. You might not need it.
A little goes a long way. Loose-leaf tea brews stronger than the powdered teabags sold in stores, so you only need 1–2 teaspoons per 8 oz of water. That is why one 2 oz bag lasts over 30 days.
Make it iced
Arizona, I know you. Half the year we want everything over ice. Brew a stronger cup (use the full 2 teaspoons and the full 10 minutes), let it cool, then pour it over a tall glass of ice. Want a pitcher? Multiply it out: about 1 to 2 teaspoons for every 8 to 10 oz of water, steep, strain, cool, and keep it in the fridge. Squeeze a little lemon in there. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
Make it a ritual
Here’s what I tell folks at the tea bar: tea works best as a ritual, not a chore. Same cup. Same time. A few quiet minutes. Put the phone down while it steeps. That pause is part of the gift. And keep up the basics, family: water, greens, movement, rest.
From our tea bar to your kitchen
When folks sit down at our tea bar in Peoria, I watch the same thing happen every time. First sip, they get quiet. Second sip, they start asking questions. What’s this flavor? Where does this herb come from? How do I make it taste like this at home? That’s the whole point, family. I want you to be able to make a great cup in your own kitchen and teach your family members and loved ones how to do it too. Ain’t no gatekeeping over here. Use good water, measure your herbs, respect the steep time, and don’t rush the cup. Do that, and your kitchen becomes your own little tea bar.
Loose-leaf tips
- Store it right. Keep your tea sealed tight, away from heat, light, and moisture. Not on top of the stove.
- Shake the bag. Herbs settle, so give it a gentle shake before you scoop so every cup gets a little of everything.
- Re-steep? Many roots and berries can take a second steep. Just know the second cup will be lighter.
Who May Enjoy Root & Restore Herbal Tea Blend?
In general, this tea may suit adults who:
- Love earthy, root-forward teas.
- Want a caffeine-free cup that fits a whole-body wellness routine.*
- Prefer loose-leaf herbs over tea bags.

- Are thinking about giving it to anyone under 18.
Notes about specific herbs in this blend
These notes are about the single herbs, not test results for this tea.

- Red clover: Contains plant compounds that may act in hormone-related ways and may affect bleeding.
- Pregnancy and nursing: Ask your provider first.
- Allergies: If you have plant allergies, read the full ingredient list first.
- Medicines: Herbal teas are gentle, but they’re still plants. If you take daily medicine, ask your provider or pharmacist before making any herbal tea a daily habit.
